Excitement as Tour of Britain Stage 3 Passes Right Outside Our Offices
Stage Three of the tour of Britain took place on Tuesday 6 September, situated entirely within Cheshire East – the first time that the Borough has hosted a stage. The excitement started to build early in the day, with children from Middlewich Primary School lining the road outside our building almost two hours in advance. Their enthusiasm levels didn’t drop once and we’re pretty sure they waved their flags and cheered when our vans left to do the day’s deliveries…
There was a great turnout by the Middlewich community, keen to see cycling superstars Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish fresh from their Olympic success, but perhaps keener to see our very own Kristian House, a rider from Middlewich who led the race through his home town.
We were amazed by the huge turnout, with local residents, schools and business on the roadside cheering the riders on and showing their support. It’s exciting to see world-class athletes thundering past and despite their speed, we were quick enough to get a few shots.
As proud supporters of the community, we love how events like this bring people together and we’re continuing to offer our support to some great local charities and community organisations.
